Moroccan “French Style” market baskets are hand woven by artisans mainly from the leaves of the Mediterranean Dwarf Palm which is common on the southern slopes of the Atlas Mountains.
Bulrush is also a commonly used material which is typically woven by two people one at either ends of a loom and then stitched together with palm rope.
These baskets are perfect for picnics, the beach and of course make great sustainable shoppers.

My friend had a basket bag like this from another shop so after trawling the internet kosmopolitan was the only UK shop I found who stocked the leather trimmed version. It’s great for sustainable shopping, when you think it’s full give it a shimmy and due to its composition the contents shifts and reveals more space for more shopping. It’s fab.
